First prayer meetings which led to the formation of the Community of Charismatic movement in Holy Spirit in Krapkowice, started during summer holidays in 1989. At first, it was just a group of few people who received Jesus Christ and desired to pray together. That’s why first prayer meetings were just part of social gatherings at homes. With time, however, other people joined the group so all of them asked the parish priest of St. Nicholas Church in Krapkowice to make its religious education room available to them. From the very beginning the group showed significant evangelizing activity. As they were sharing the stories of what God had done in their lives, more and more people desired to meet that God, and joined the Community. Its proliferation was followed by the growth in diversity of evangelizing enterprises such as: musical concerts, nativity plays, Easter passions, women days, meetings with Santa Claus for the youngest, St. Andrew’s and New Year’s Eve parties. Since 2001 the Community has organized seven editions of the Krapkowice Christian Music Review which each year has been enjoing more and more popularity. In 2007 about one thousand people have come to enjoy the music as well as the atmosphere of the Review. Since 2002 the Community has also had its own website, and it’s the one that you, Dear Reader, are visiting at the moment. As well as organizing musical events, the Community has its own choir and music band named “TAW” and both take part in the events. Their musicians, however, have been opened to other offers and throughout few years have given several concerts in Opole, Gogolin, Kudowa Zdrój and Duszniki Zdrój. Another important event in the history of the Commuinity took place on 4th Oct 2004 when every-Monday prayer meetings, the base of spiritual growth of the members of the group, were moved from religious education room to Divine Mercy Church in Krapkowice. Throughout about twenty years Charismatics from Krapkowice have been given many spiritual guardians. Among them were such priests as: Adam Rogalski, Aleksander Sydor and Jarosław Staniszewski. Charismatics fron Krapkowice form a multigenerational group. There are older members as well as teenagers. What is also characteristic for the group, is its spontaneity and enthusiasm in relatoinships with God. Great emphasis has always been placed on forming brotherly and sisterly relationships between all members which is being successfully achieved during numerous tourist trips. Until now over two hundred people have joined the Community, but we believe God’s promise that there will be much more.
